Free guided breathwork

Deep Breathe: a free guided breathing app

Deep Breathe is an independent, browser-based breathing app for guided Wim Hof-style breathwork. It gives you spoken cues, automatically times breath holds, and lets you choose the pace, rounds, breaths, sounds, and music that fit your practice. The core app is free, has no advertising, and can be used without creating an account.

What can you do with Deep Breathe?

Start a guided session from any modern phone or computer, then follow the voice instead of counting breaths or watching a stopwatch. Beginners can choose a slower three-round session, while experienced practitioners can adjust the pace, number of breaths, recovery hold, and retention settings. Session history and personal retention times are stored on your device by default.

  • Voice-guided breathing and recovery cues
  • Customizable rounds, breathing pace, and breath count
  • Automatic breath-retention timing and progress statistics
  • Optional background music, night mode, and multiple voices
  • Installable Progressive Web App support for offline sessions

How does it work?

A typical session alternates repeated deep breaths with a comfortable breath hold and a short recovery breath. Deep Breathe guides each phase and records the timing so you can focus on the exercise. You can begin immediately without an account; signing in is optional and enables data sync across devices.

For safety, practise seated or lying down in a secure place. Never use breath-hold exercises in water, while driving, or anywhere that losing awareness could cause harm. Stop if you feel unwell. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, ask a qualified clinician whether this type of breathwork is appropriate for you.

Who makes Deep Breathe?
